OUR APPROACH
To help children learn, it’s essential that they have
access to a nutritious breakfast to give them the
energy and concentration they need. This is why the
Club’s approach focuses on building the capacities of
its partners and the various education environments
(childcare centres, schools and school communities)
to equip and support them in implementing and
managing quality breakfast programs.
How do we put this approach into action?
By providing guidance and support through a team
of professionals deployed on the ground. Nearly half
of the schools surveyed for the 2024–2025 school year
remarked on the importance of their coordinator’s
guidance (calls and/or visits) as a contributing factor
to their program’s success. In particular, schools value
the exchange of ideas, the solutions recommended and
the warm rapport they create with the members of the
Club’s coordinating team.
During the 2024–2025 school year, Club coordinators
made over 1,000 visits to schools, school service
centres and community partners. These visits make
it possible to tailor our support to the schools’ and
students’ specific needs. Thanks to support from
local financial partners, team members were also
able to visit schools in northern Canada, including
Nunavut and the Nunavik region of Quebec. Although
less frequent, these visits to remote communities are
essential to ensuring that all schools in the country feel
connected to the national movement.

By creating practical tools and resources to address
common challenges. For example, nearly 25% of schools
report challenges related to a lack of volunteer capacity.
The Club has therefore developed a host of resources
designed to facilitate the recruitment and engagement
of young people, volunteers and members of the school
community in the programs.
Particular attention has been paid to creating
content better adapted to local school realities. This
has included province-specific newsletters, local
open-house days and in-person training sessions
at the school board level. Tailored content enables
schools and school boards to make better use of the
Club’s resources, enhance their breakfast programs
and ensure that our support meets the particular
needs of each environment across the country.
By placing nutrition at the heart of our priorities. As a
leader in school food programs, the Club is committed
to following best practices in nutrition. This year, a
service was set up dedicated entirely to supporting this
mission. Indeed, more than half the schools cite nutrition
resources as one of their most valued forms of support,
and would like more of them.
By teaming up with quality partners to provide
programs rooted in the community. The Club
collaborates with local partners to boost its impact
on children and their communities. Through these
partnerships, the Club can capitalize on its expertise in
school nutrition while leveraging the complementary
know-how of the partner organizations.
